What to Expect From Your Session

I photograph in settings where you’ll feel most yourself, whether we meet in your backyard or your living room or a pretty park we’ve agreed to make ours for an hour. We’ll collaborate on your photographs, arranging you in positions and groupings that feel natural and comfortable, and capturing slices of life in between. Sessions typically last about forty-five minutes and may go longer if we’re in a groove. I don’t offer mini-sessions because I don’t like to make clients feel that they’re part of an assembly line–I prefer that we relax into a session so we can arrive at some honest expressions.

If you’re wondering what to wear, go with something that allows room for movement and makes you feel good in your body, whether it’s polos and jeans or your Sunday best. I recommend colors that harmonize; avoid bold colors and graphic prints.

Included in my portrait sessions are a select number of edited high-resolution digital files, delivered to you via the Clients tab on this website and available for complimentary download, with a watermarked image for sharing on social media. For an additional fee, I offer an array of print products (such as a flash drive of digital images; a photo book; photographic prints with any combination of surfaces, textures, coatings, or mountings; canvas wraps; wood or metal).

What is lifestyle photography? It’s when I hang out with you and yours for about two hours (give or take, depending on participants’ moods) as you go about your everyday activities, and I document those sweet, funny moments that should be remembered but slip away all too easily. I can come to your home, or we can meet at a location that’s meaningful to you. It’s a style of photography that allows you to be in your comfort zone while I photograph you. So, have a conversation, have coffee or hot cocoa, play a board game, do the dishes, wash the car, walk the dog; pay the bills, feed the baby, paint the living room: All of those activities have their own merit now, but they’ll be memories in the not too distant future, and you’ll be able to hold them in your hands, because after our lifestyle session, I select the best images, edit them, and make you a custom hardcover photo book (dust-jacketed, clothbound, 8.5″x8.5″) of the experience. I also include the complimentary gallery of edited high-resolution digital files.

I photograph all manner of events, including but not limited to weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, and family reunions. I’m based in Huntington and willing to travel. In addition to the complimentary digital gallery of edited images, we will discuss how you’d like your photographs delivered, whether it’s via flash drive, photo book, or prints of any variety.
